Kennametal Elects Caterpillar Group President and VP Steven Wunning to Board of Directors

LATROBE, Pa., April 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT) announced today that it has elected Steven H. Wunning, group president and Executive Office member of Caterpillar Inc., to its Board of Directors. Mr. Wunning will join the Kennametal Board in July 2005.

Mr. Wunning, 54, began his career at Caterpillar in 1973 and has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in the areas of quality, manufacturing, product support and logistics. He has administrative responsibility for the Financial Products Division, Latin American Division, Logistics Division, Product Support Division, and Systems & Process Division. With sales in excess of $30 billion and over 70,000 employees, Caterpillar is the world's largest maker of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines.
